Job Summary:

The Lincoln Family Medicine Center, a program of the Lincoln Medical Education Partnership, has an opening for a Practice Administrator. This is an exempt management position responsible for leading and directing the business operations of the Lincoln Family Medicine Center.

As the primary education site for the training of residents at the Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program, we are able to offer our patients cutting-edge medical care from physicians that have recently graduated from prestigious medical schools from around the U.S. With 24 resident physicians, seven faculty physicians and two mid-level providers, we are a very busy clinic. In addition to our medical clinic, we also have an outpatient mental health program, as well as a medical acupuncture program.

We are seeking an experienced administrator with a broad-based knowledge of practice management. This position will be responsible for leading and directing the business operations of the Lincoln Family Medicine Center and will also teach practice management topics to our resident physicians. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s preferred; plus, five years of management-level experience in the administration of a healthcare organization. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

We are seeking an experienced healthcare administration executive to join our team as Chief Executive Officer. This executive-level role will partner with the Board of Directors to lead and grow the operations of MD West ONE, while overseeing each function of the organization.

MD West ONE is one of the region’s leading providers in orthopedic, neurosurgery and spine care. We’re focused on delivering quality patient care throughout our community and have 33 physicians and over 200 employees. This position offers the exciting opportunity to drive strategic initiatives and growth, while being a lead change agent for a physician-owned, multi-clinic practice, during a period of growth.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Board and Management Company Administration and Support

- Support the operations and administration of the Board of Directors by maintaining continual, open, and effective communication between the Board, Physician Partners, Leadership, and staff.

  • Medical Staff Liaison

- Facilitate relationships between the physicians and the clinic and its related organizations.
- Recognize that the ongoing strength and success of the organization relies heavily on the strength and success of our medical staff and engage them accordingly.
- Participate in issues surrounding ethics and quality.

  • Community and Public Relations

- Demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, to ensure that the organization’s mission, programs, and essential services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

  • Compliance

- Ensure the organization is compliant with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as they apply to operations of the organization.

  • Strategic Planning

- Maintain current knowledge of general trade and industry conditions and their potential impact on the organizations’ policies and operations.
- In collaboration with the Board, develop the short- and long-term strategic plan for the organization and its offered services.
- Ensure the strategic plan is articulated both internally and externally, and effectively delegate key activities to ensure timely execution of strategic plan initiatives.

  • Delivery of Healthcare Services

- Overall responsibility for the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, risk management and quality of all clinic programs and services provided to the community.
- Ensure that policies and practices effectively support sound and safe patient care, and that the delivery of healthcare services provides a positive patient experience.

  • Financial Management

- Recommend yearly budgets for Board-approval and ensure prudent management of the resources within those budgetary guidelines according to current laws and regulations.
- Ensure that appropriate internal and management controls are established and maintained.

  • Human Resources Management

- Organize each function of the organization through appropriate delegation.
- Ensure effective management of the organization’s human capital according to current personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
- Oversee the Leadership Team and complete annual evaluations for direct reports in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Facilities Management

- Oversee the preservation of the asset value of the organizations’ capital investments.
- Oversee the management of construction and facility rehabilitation activities.
- Ensure disaster and emergency preparedness activities are appropriately planned, exercised and documented.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of directly related executive-level experience with healthcare facilities of similar size and structure, required.
  • Extensive experience in healthcare administration, required.
  • Experience developing and overseeing large budgets and leading and implementing strategic planning initiatives.
  • Data analysis experience.
  • Experience developing and motivating staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • Master’s degree in a Business Administration or Healthcare Administration, strongly preferred.
  • Valid Nebraska Driver’s License, required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and complex organizational management skills.
  • Current working knowledge of general trade and healthcare industry conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of the general principles of human resources management and employment law.
  • Proven ability to create effective working relationships with physicians, staff, Board members and the community.
  • Must maintain confidentiality concerning patient’s personal, financial, and medical information.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to continually address and shift priorities, meet deadlines and work in a high-stress environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to speak to large and diverse groups.
  • Must present a professional appearance, providing a positive image of the organization to the public.
  • Must exercise considerable judgment and discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain regular attendance and work extended hours, as needed.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms to operate office equipment.
  • Ability to travel to clinic locations, as needed.
